WCAT’s Election Night Live Cablecast Invites All Candidates

WAKEFIELD – Once the polls have closed on Tuesday’s annual town election, WCAT will be cablecasting their live Election Night program from Studio A beginning at 8.30 pm. All candidates running for office are invited to come down to WCAT’s facilities and join in the program.

“In the Board of Selectmen and School Committee races in particular, this year, we have an interesting mixture of incumbents, perennial candidates, and new names,” said Producer David Watts, Jr. “We are looking forward to some lively conversation with the candidates, win or lose, on the races, on current local issues, and on the upcoming May 1st Annual Town Meeting.”

This year’s edition of this perennial post-election program is being co-hosted by Town Moderator Bill Carroll, Anthony Guardia, and Gerard Leeman, Chairman of the Finance Committee. In addition to discussing the races and the issues, they will also be interviewing any and all candidates who wish to participate.

As soon as Town Clerk Betsy Sheeran releases the unofficial results the election, WCAT will announce those results on the program. As has been the custom for the last few years, printed copies of the results, as received, will also be made available to candidates and their staffs at WCAT.

The public is invited to view the Election Night program from WCAT’s front lobby and conference room. Election Night can be viewed at home on WCAT’s government channel (Comcast – channel 22; RCN – channel 13; Verizon FIOS – channel 42). The program can also be seen live online at www.wcatwakefield.org; click on the Watch Now button.
