WCAT hosts election night coverage on Tuesday

WAKEFIELD — Tonight at 7 p.m., the Town Council will hold a hybrid meeting with members in the studio.

Tuesday morning at 9:30 the Wakefield Unified Prevention Coalition (WakeUp) will hold their monthly meeting at WCAT.

Tuesday night as the results of election come in, WCAT will host election night coverage. Participating from the studio will be Town Moderator Bill Carroll, retiring Town Councilor Ann McGonigle Santos, and Finance Committee member Tarae Howell. They will be speaking with those candidates who choose to come to the studio.

The post-election coverage will be shown live on YouTube, WCAT’s Facebook page, and on WCAT’s Government channel (RCN 13, Comcast 22, and Verizon 42) and on their Public channel (RCN 3, Comcast 3, and Verizon 40).

On Wednesday at 7 p.m., WCAT will facilitate another in the series of Building Forums related to the proposed new high school. Topics will include preferred schematic design option, preliminary pricing, and preferred schematic report submission.

Thursday at 2:30 p.m., the Beebe Library’s “Book Buzz” crew will be in the studio discussing and recommending their current favorite books. Rosey Mongeau and Avery will record another episode of their podcast “Really Important Fictional Things” at 6 p.m.

Throughout the month of April, WCAT has been working with another non-profit to film a series of nine educational videos. These are filmed on different days at various times – as early as 8 a.m. and as late at 1 p.m.

Planning for town meeting

WCAT continues to prepare for the upcoming May town meeting. The team has been busy creating graphics, testing equipment, and coordinating with town officials. You’ll be able to watch town meeting on WCAT’s government channels (Comcast 22, Verizon 42, RCN 13, and RCN HD 614) and streaming live on our Facebook page and on our website’s video-on-demand.

“Movies by the Lake”

WCAT is bringing back “Movies by the Lake” for the seventh year. Residents can help pick the 2022 movies with an online survey on Facebook.

Expenses for each movie night run about $2500 and are paid for by sponsors. To those visiting WCAT: individuals may still choose to wear a mask while in the studio based on their personal circumstances, but they are not required to do so.
