The Nahant Street Yard Waste Site ("the Pit") opens for the season on April 4. The site is available for the disposal of leaves, grass, shrubs, and brush on scheduled dates throughout the season. A permit is required to obtain access and is available to Wakefield residents only. Permits can be obtained at the Public Works office at Town Hall or purchased online at www.wakefieldma.gov/pay
Permits must be renewed annually. View the site’s schedule at www.wakefieldma.gov/yard-waste
