School Committee, two podcasts, and WCAT’s board meeting this week at WCAT

WAKEFIELD — Have you ever wondered about distinguished people who have come before us? Yesterday, WCAT aired an episode about Richard “Dick” Boutiette. Dick retired from directing the Wakefield Department of Public Works in 1992 after more than 30 years. “Wakefield Focus”, a show hosted by Cheryl Webb Scott ran in the 1990s. Sunday’s show aired at 7:30 a.m., 1:30 p.m., and 10 p.m. Next week, an episode on Wakefield’s General John Galvin will be aired. Even if you don’t have cable, you can watch episodes of “Wakefield Focus” streaming on www.wcatwakefield.org or on the station’s public channel.

Monday

At 6 p.m., WCAT’s Board of Directors will hold their monthly meeting. This is a hybrid meeting with most members in the conference room.

Tuesday

At 7, the School Committee will hold a hybrid meeting with most members in the studio.

Thursday

Afternoon at 2, WCAT Executive Director Ryan Boyd will interview Pastor Doug Dry of the First Baptist Church in the podcast studio.

Friday

At 11 a.m., Howard Hart, Founder of the Opera Club of Wakefield, returns to the podcast studio to record another episode of “Speaking Opera.”

Each week, WCAT airs religious services of several local churches on the Public Channels (Verizon-40 or Comcast/RCN-3).
