Town Meeting, Town Administrator report, and a podcast this week at WCAT

Monday

Tonight at 7, WCAT will cover Wakefield’s Town Meeting at the Galvin Middle School.

WCAT was on hand on May 11 to film and narrate the varsity boys’ volleyball contest against Woburn. This was the last home game and Senior Night. Pictured here are some of the Warriors warming up. (WCAT Courtesy Photo)

Wednesday

This morning the Wakefield Alliance Against Violence (WAAV) will meet in the studio. At 3:30 p.m., Town Administrator Steve Maio and host David Watts, Jr., will be in the studio for the Town Administrator’s Report.

Thursday

At 3:45 p.m., Barbara Worley and Tom Stapleton will reconvene the “Feel Good Community” group. At 4 p.m., “Really Important Fictional Things” returns with hosts Rosey Mongeau and Avery in to record another podcast.

Should the town meeting need a second night, WCAT will be back at the Galvin Middle School to film the session beginning at 7 p.m. on Thursday.

Movies by the Lake

Movies by the Lake is returning for the eighth year. An average of 300-350 area residents come together to attend a large outdoor movie theater on Thursday nights every summer.

This spring, more than 600 local residents helped pick the 2023 movies with an online poll (for licensing reasons movie titles can’t be printed in the media). The movie dates are July 13, 20, and 27, and August 3. The rain date (used for only one movie) will be August 10.

Returning movie sponsors-to-date (and movies sponsored) included Rebirth Body Transformation Center (4), The Savings Bank (4), Boys and Girls Clubs of Stoneham and Wakefield (1-2), Floramo’s Restaurant in Wakefield (1), Wakefield Rotary (1), Kids’ Test Kitchen (1), and The Gingerbread Construction Co (1).
