Town Meeting, Town Council, School Committee, and more this week at WCAT

Monday

Tonight at 6, the Town Council will hold a hybrid meeting with members in the studio. There will be an Executive Session prior to the open meeting.

Tuesday

At 7 p.m., the School Committee will hold a hybrid meeting with members in the studio.

Wednesday

In the morning the Wakefield Alliance Against Violence (WAAV) will meet in the studio. These meetings are not televised.

At 3 p.m. David Watts, Jr. will host Steve Maio for the monthly “Town Administrator’s Report in the studio.

Friday

Rob Brogna, WCAT Board Member and Director of Media Relations at MelroseWakefield Healthcare, will be joined by breast cancer surgeons from Tufts Medicine in the podcast studio for another in the series of “The Healthy Podcast.”

Friday night, WCAT staff, interns, and volunteers will be at the Galvin Middle School to begin setting up for Town Meeting.

Saturday

Prior to the 8 a.m. start of Town Meeting, the crew will return to the Galvin for a final run-through to be ready for Town Meeting.

 

 

Programming

Each week, WCAT airs religious services of several local churches on the Public Channels (Verizon-40, Comcast-9, or RCN-3). New WCAT member Emmanuel Episcopal Church will join this group by airing four services each week: Sunday at 12:30 p.m. (prior week’s services), Wednesday at 8 p.m., Friday at 4 p.m., and Saturday at 5 p.m.

Public Service Announcements (“PSAs”)

WCAT, working with the town, has begun producing PSAs/News segments related to important town events and happenings to further inform residents of important information. Recent PSAs include details on the town’s water main flushing, detours in place during work on Montrose Avenue, commuter rail track work, and detours on Salem Street. These segments are broadcast as well as uploaded to YouTube and posted to Facebook.
