The staff at WCAT are proud to recognize the “shout out” by Patriots’ owner Robert Kraft in a letter Kraft sent on January 10 in response to a thank you sent to him by Brendan Kent, Director of Athletics, Health and Wellness in which Kraft writes, “… and a job well done by the tv production students…”. Kraft was referring to WCAT student commentators – seniors
Drew Schermerhorn and Matt O’Connor and junior Tymothy Brown and others. These three students share duties covering football, volleyball, and boys’ and girls’ basketball.
Wednesday
WCAT will assist with an MAPC Zoom meeting at 6:30 p.m. with Economic Development Office Erin Kokinda called “Master Plan Workshop” that will review the remaining two Master Plan topics: facilities, town services, and infrastructure; and economic development.
Also on Wednesday, at 7 p.m., WCAT will record, for later broadcast, a Recycling Forum that will be held at the Beebe Library in the Lecture Room. The session is hosted by Wakefield’s Environmental Sustainability Committee and the speaker will be Gretchen Carey, Sustainability Director for the New England Region at Republic Services, LEED Green Associate and Zero Waster TRUE Advisor and President of Mass Recycle.
Thursday
At 2:45 p.m., Kathy Healey, WCAT board member, will host her monthly “Talk of the Town” program. The topic will be “A day in the life of a METCO student.” At 5 p.m., “Really Important Fictional Things” with hosts Rosey Mongeau and Avery returns to the podcast studio.
Friday
At 5:30 p.m., WCAT crew and volunteers, including WMHS senior commentator Matt O’Connor, will film the girls’ varsity basketball game against Melrose. At 7 p.m., WMHS junior commentator Tymothy Brown will take over the mic duties when the crew films the boys’ varsity basketball game, also against Melrose.
