WCAT annual meeting, the Superintendent’s podcast, and ‘Jolly Jingle’ Express this week at WCAT

Tuesday

Tuesday night at 7, WCAT member the Friends of Lake Quannapowitt (FOLQ) will hold a meeting in the conference room.

Wednesday

At 6:30, WCAT will hold their Annual Meeting in the studio. Staff and crew, board members, and residents will hear a report on the year’s activities and a glimpse ahead to the coming year.

Thursday

At 5 p.m., Cheryl Webb Scott and her talented crew will return to the studio to film another episode of “The Total Woman.”

Friday

At 1 p.m. Wakefield Public Schools Superintendent Dr. Douglas Lyons will join host Anthony Guardia in the podcast studio for “The Superintendent’s Report.” Assistant Superintendent Kara Mauro has been a regular guest as well.

Sunday

The WCAT crew will participate in the “Jolly Jingle” holiday train ride in support of the Wakefield Music Boosters (WMB) as they host a fun-filled 70-minute train ride with Santa and his elves. The WMB Jolly Jingle Express will leave from Anderson Station in Woburn on an express route to the North Pole. There will be four trips throughout the day.

Each week, WCAT airs religious services of several local churches on the Public Channels (Verizon-40, Comcast-9, or RCN-3). New WCAT member Emmanuel Episcopal Church will join this group by airing four services each week: Sunday at 12:30 p.m. (prior week’s services), Wednesday at 8 p.m., Friday at 4 p.m., and Saturday at 5 p.m.

 

WCAT, working with the town, has begun producing PSAs/News segments related to important town events and happenings to further inform residents of important informationjy. Recent PSAs include details on the town’s water main flushing, detours in place during work on Montrose Avenue, commuter rail track work, and detours on Salem Street. These segments are broadcast as well as uploaded to YouTube and posted to Facebook.
