WCAT travels with The Room to Write to film an interview while technology integration continues

Later this week

Testing and integration of new equipment will continue as state-of-the-art technology is implemented.

The studio will be closed on Thursday and Friday for the Thanksgiving holiday. The Thanksgiving Day game will be televised from Melrose on our channels.

Religious programing

During each week, WCAT airs the religious services of several local churches on the Public Channels (Verizon-40 or Comcast/RCN-3) Wakefield churches that participate and the times their services are aired include:

  • First Baptist Church (Tuesday at noon, Thursday at 7 p.m., and Saturday at noon)
  • First Parish Congregational (Sunday at 11 a.m. (previous week), Sunday at 7 p.m., Monday at 8 p.m., Wednesday at noon, and Friday at 7 p.m.)
  • Greater River Church (Sunday at 10 a.m., Tuesday at 4 p.m., Thursday at 10 p.m. and Saturday at 9 p.m.)
  • Saint Joseph Parish (Saturday at 7 p.m., Sunday at 9 a.m., Tuesday at 5:30 p.m. and Thursday at noon)

Other houses of worship that air services on WCAT include Crossroad Christian (Peabody) and First Baptist Church (Woburn). Also airing on WCAT, Good News with Bill Robinson (DCTV,  Washington, D.C.) and Learning the Bible with John Gouvalaris (Peabody TV, Peabody).

WCAT’s Annual Meeting will be held on Wednesday, November 30 from 6:30-8 p.m. The meeting will be held at WCAT’s studio at 24 Hemlock Road. All are invited to attend and spend an evening with Board members and staff. There will be light refreshments.
