White Ribbon ceremony, Chamber’s Legislative Breakfast, and more this week at WCAT

 

Monday

At 6:30, the Town Council will hold an Executive Session followed by a hybrid meeting immediately following with members in the studio.

 

Tuesday

At 8 a.m., a WCAT crew will head to the Four Points by Sheraton to film the Wakefield Area Chamber of Commerce’s

Legislative Breakfast. Expected legislators include Senators Lewis and Crighton and Representatives Jones, Lipper-Garabedian, Wong, Day, and Haggerty.

Tuesday at 7 p.m., the School Committee will hold a hybrid meeting with members in the studio.

 

Wednesday

At 3:30 p.m., the First Baptist Church will hold another session of “In the Middle.”  Also Wednesday afternoon, a local Girl Scout Troop will hold a meeting in the conference and then take a tour of the facility.

Wednesday night at 6:30, the WCAT Working Group will hold a meeting in the conference room with most members in the building.

 

Thursday

At 11:30 a.m., Laura Williamson of Bare Fitness will return to the studio to film another in her series related to exercise and nutrition.

Thursday afternoon at 2:30, WCAT will film the “White Ribbon” ceremony on the plaza at the Beebe Library.

 

“The Item Minute”

WCAT is collaborating with the Wakefield Daily Item to bring their twice-weekly segment,
“The Item Minute,” to video. This series is hosted by Wakefield Memorial High School intern Cavan Hill and will run across social media platforms in short vertical formats such as Reels and YouTube Shorts. Full horizontal versions will also air on the channel.

Each week, WCAT airs religious services of several local churches on the Public Channels (Verizon-40, Comcast-9, or RCN-3). New WCAT member Emmanuel Episcopal Church will join this group by airing four services each week: Sunday at 12:30 p.m. (prior week’s services), Wednesday at 8 p.m., Friday at 4 p.m., and Saturday at 5 p.m.

Public Service Announcements (“PSAs”)

WCAT, working with the town, has begun producing PSAs/News segments related to important town events and happenings to further inform residents of valuable information. Recent PSAs have covered a request for help with the 4th of July Parade and information on the 2024 Census Forms. These segments are broadcast as well as uploaded to YouTube and posted to Facebook.
